Ninja x adidas ✦ Chase the Spark

For the launch of Ninja’s second collaboration with adidas, we wanted to inspire people to pursue their passion. When Ninja started playing video games as a young kid, no one saw a future in it—but that didn’t matter. Gaming ignited a spark in him that he enjoyed too much to stop, and the more he chased that feeling, the more possibilities opened up ahead of him.
We created an animated piece to tell this story, using key moments from Ninja’s life to show how doing what you love can lead to amazing things and inspire others in the process. This was the jumping off point for the whole campaign which came to life across social, digital and a live Twitch unboxing where Tyler revealed the new collection and debuted the animation for his fans.
For this project, I was heavily involved in every aspect, co-creative directing with our ECD. That meant everything from writing copy to giving animation notes to our production partner to directing designers on content creation to becoming stalker-level knowledgable in the details of Ninja’s life. (He has 3 dogs named Chance, Navi, and Cloud btw.)
